鳥取県岩美町の海辺に計画した「クガミテラス ― Sunset Cafe & Small Gallery」に関するプレスリリースを配信し、計27媒体に掲載されました。 本計画は、季節利用に偏りがちな海辺の空間に対して、通年利用可能な滞在の場を提案するものです。建築は夕日の方向へとわずかに傾けて配置し、時間とともに変化する光を空間へと取り込みます。さらに、屋根上部に設けたルーバーが直射光をやわらかく分節し、床面に落ちる陰影によって時間の移ろいを可視化しています。 海へと開かれたテラスと内部空間は緩やかに連続し、内外の境界を曖昧にすることで、風・光・音といった環境要素が建築の中へと浸透します。利用者は風景の中に身を置くように滞在し、時間の変化とともに異なる表情を体験することができます。 1階には地元作家の作品を展示するギャラリーとシャワールーム等を備え、地域文化の発信と海辺の利用を支える構成としました。2階にはカフェ席と展望デッキを設け、海を望みながら過ごすことのできる多様な居場所を用意しています。 今回のプレスリリースは、朝日新聞デジタルマガジンやNIKKEI COMPASSをはじめ、複数のメディアに掲載されました。空間の提案にとどまらず、地域における新たな滞在のあり方として広く紹介されています。 今後も、風景と建築の関係を丁寧に捉えながら、地域に根ざした空間の提案を続けていきたいと考えています。
A press release regarding “Kugami Terrace – Sunset Cafe & Small Gallery,” a project planned for the seaside in Iwami Town, Tottori Prefecture, was distributed and featured in a total of 27 media outlets. This project proposes a year-round space for stays, in contrast to seaside spaces that tend to be used only seasonally. The building is positioned at a slight angle towards the setting sun, bringing light that changes with the time of day into the space. Furthermore, louvers installed on the roof softly segment the direct sunlight, and the shadows cast on the floor visualize the passage of time. The terrace, which opens to the sea, and the interior space are gently continuous, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside, allowing environmental elements such as wind, light, and sound to permeate the building. Users can stay as if they were immersed in the landscape and experience different expressions as time passes. The first floor is equipped with a gallery exhibiting works by local artists and shower rooms, creating a configuration that supports the dissemination of local culture and the use of the seaside. The second floor has cafe seating and an observation deck, providing a variety of places to relax while overlooking the sea. This press release was published in multiple media outlets, including Asahi Shimbun Digital Magazine and NIKKEI COMPASS. It has been widely introduced not only as a proposal for space, but also as a new way of experiencing life in a region. Moving forward, we intend to continue proposing spaces rooted in local communities, while carefully considering the relationship between landscape and architecture.
